B.Sc. Forestry course scope, jobs, eligibility and salary details – Bachelor of Science in Forestry is a relatively new course that is offered in many leading colleges all over India,but is more popular in states that have larger forest cover,less urban development and more agricultural produce.

So is it a good career move? What kind of job is it? – If you love outdoor jobs then this will be perfect for you.It is a 75% field job and 25% office job.You will spend a large part of the day examining crops,land,farming equipment and territory.

B.Sc Forestry Eligibility and FEES

This course is similar to that of B.Sc in Agriculture as well as Agricultural Engineering that is also a B.E degree.Most of the subjects as well as the laboratory practicals are the same.

It is a four year B.Sc course and the basic eligibility to take admission into this course is that you need to have done class 12 science with the subjects:

  • Physics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry

Also they should be atleast 17 years of age and have scored atleast 50% at class 12 board exams.

Note that these conditions will change depending upon the college you are taking admission into as well as the state.

Some states require you to take an entrance exam to get admission into B.Sc forestry.For example there is the EAMCET which is valid for the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

FEES  – The Total fees for 4 years will be approximately between 2 and 2.5 lacs.This depends on the college,state and other factors,but more or less will be in this range.
