ITI Courses After 12th – Industrial training institutes are small colleges that are tied up with the Union Government under the Directorate General of Employment and training. The purpose of these institutes is to teach technical trades like plumbing, mechanics, fitters, welders and other vocational subjects to students from classes 8 to class 12.
The governing and affiliating body for all ITI courses is the NCVT.
These trades are 100% practical based and very less theory is involved.It mostly deals with jobs that can be done with your own hands physically rather than something that uses your brain.Also it is setup for students with less educational qualifications and lower income groups.
In order to get in,you have to pass a written test and take admission based on merit.After getting into your choice of course,you will have to give an examination at the end of the course called as All India Trade Test or short AITT.
If you successfully clear this test you will be provided with a certificate of National Trade – NTC in short.
This certificate is useful as you can then get apprenticeship in any government and private organization.

Advantages of joining an ITI course

- Relaxed Eligibility – In order to get admission, the basic education requirement is only 8th standard for most courses.Some may ask for 10th pass,or 10th fail, but that is rare.

Eligibility, Admission and FEES
For candidates to get admission into an ITI course that is affiliated to NCVT,you need to give a written test and based on that merit score you can secure a seat in any of the hundreds of ITI institutes in your state.
In addition to this,you need to be atleast 14 years of age and have passed minimum of 8th standard in school.For some courses, you need to have done a 10th standard.
The fees in all these courses are regulated by the government and hence will not be high.Many courses are available all under Rs.10,000 including the exam fees and miscellaneous fees respectively.
