After 12th Commerce : Join Indian Army/Navy/Air Force – Students of commerce stream have a smaller chance of joining the armed forces as compared to students of science,because maths and physics is needed mostly,but purely for officer posts there are few options open for them.If you want to join directly after class 12 also there are few options but there is more openings if you are a graduate and get a B.Com  – Bachelor of Commerce degree.Note that some of these posts are for officers and others are for service personnel.

After 12th Commerce for the Army

You cannot join in the ranks of an officer in the army after doing just class 12 in commerce,however there are other posts that are open for you.

You can join the army as  soldier on general duty.

First thing you will think of is that a soldier means on the front line firing a weapon but this is not the case.You can join up as either  an arms soldier or a services soldier.

1.Arms Soldier – If you join up as an arms soldier,you can be called upon and deployed in active duty at the front line and engage in combat through the divisions of Artillery,fighting troops,gunners,operators,armored corps etc

2.Services Soldier – This way you will still hold the rank of ‘sepoy’ or soldier but will not see live action and you will be behind the scenes either in any of the corps related to services corps,ordnance corps or army medical corps.

3.Soldier Clerk Store Keeper – The Age of the applicant should be between  – 17½ – 23 Years and
Qualifications should be minimum 10+2 pass (50% marks)
(Each subject must have 40% marks)with Maths & English.

4.Soldier Tradesman – The minimum age group should be between Ages of – 17½ – 23 Years and have  the Qualifications – 10th / ITI and 8th pass (for some trades)

After 12th Commerce for Navy

 

1.Logistics officer – If you are a B.Com graduate then you can be a logistics officer in charge of inventory management,supply chain management.

2.MR Entry (Chef, Steward and Sanitary Hygienist) – You need a minimum of 10th pass to get into the Indian Navy through Matric Recruitment Entry from which you can become a chef,steward.

After 12th Commerce for Air Force

There are a few ways in general to get into the the Indian Air force.I will first tell you the different ways and then tell which is suitable for a student of commerce.

1.AFCAT

This is the air Force common aptitude test and the IAF regularly conducts its annual AFCAT entrance exam for all candidates.This requires Maths and Physics so this method is not possible

2.CDSE

Combined Defense services exam CDSE also is an entrance exam for fresher graduates for men and is a permanent commission basis.This also requires Maths and Physics,so this way also is not possible.

3.AIR FORCE ADMINISTRATION

Commerce students can sign up in the Indian Air force on ground duty position for both men and women.Your duties here will be:

1.To mange resources and personnel

2.Air traffic control

3.Airspace management and flow of traffic

4.Flight Controller

5.Supervision of radar and air traffic between the two

As far as education goes,they are accepting commerce graduates with minimum 60% in your graduation year.

This is a permanent commission for men and a SSC – Short service commission for women.

4.AIR FORCE ACCOUNTS

If you are from a commerce stream background and especially if you graduated with accounts as the main subject,then you will have a good advantage in getting this post.

This is available for commerce pass out graduate students for men and women both who will get a permanent or Short service commission in the IAF.

Your duties as an Accounts officer will be:

1.Accounting and supervision of inventory management

2.Management of Air Force funds and finances.

3.Internal Auditing of accounts

4.Ensure a 0 defect audit from outside agencies

You need to have a bachelor of commerce degree ( B.Com )
