What does CMO mean or stand for ?

Chief Medical Officer is in charge of the RMOs- resident medical officers of a healthcare facility or hospital.He/she also takes decisions on the health of patients in the hospital and out patient department/ ER as well as  gives the nod to admit or discharge a patient.
