What does DLITT mean or stand for ?

D.LITT is a terminal academic course and is on par with a P.Hd.Both confer a doctorate on the student who successfully completes the program.After doing a Masters course,one can apply for a D.LITT doctorate,however some universities require you to do a prerequisite P.Hd also before attempting this course.

As a D.LITT you will require to elaborate on the works of an Author/Poet/Playwright.Your thesis will include a detailed study on a persona or a work of Literature.Needless to say,your proficiency in that language will have to be exquisite before you attempt to take on this Doctorate.
