What does GDOP mean or stand for ?

Geometric Dilution Of Precision is a method of estimation used by the sea farers and also scientists to determine the errors in calculating relative positions of satellites.When these satellites in orbit are closer together then the error is larger and hence DOP is high.When they are far apart then the precision is more accurate and the errors are minimized.
