BA in Yoga – Career,Salary and Job Scope
If you decide to do a course in B.A Yoga,Yoga philosophy or Yoga Science, you can be officially called as a Yoga therapist or Yoga instructor.
After this, you can expect to get employment in the following areas:
- Homes for the aged
- Hospice
- Hospitals
- Ayurveda companies
- Resorts
- Clubs
- Gymnasiums / fitness centres
- Nutritional and dieting centres
- Physiotherapy and rehabilitation centres
If you try and get a job in any of the above places that i have mentioned, you can expect to earn Rs.20,000 – Rs.40,000 per month in a large city in India. In corporate hospitals and nursing homes you can get employed part time or full time on a regular pay scale, but if you decide to give classes in a club, resort or gym, then you can charge each individual a certain fee for the course that you offer.
According to me,the best way i have seen people making money is by starting classes in places like Goa and Himachal Pradesh. Here there are lots of hippie backpacker travellers who not only pay more for these “exotic” ancient forms of body and mind meditation but also love the culture that comes with it.
Other courses in Yoga
After doing your B.A in Yoga, there are other courses that you can do if you want to continue in the same field. Some of these are Masters courses that can be done later,in order to get a higher salary.
