What does AMBU BAG mean or stand for ?

You may have seen in movies,when an ambulance comes to the rescue of a person with trauma or injuries like a road accident.It is a ballon like apparatus that inflates on its own when breathed into.It helps the patient to breathe well and provides adequate ventilation to the lungs until the ambulance can arrive at the hospital.It is held by the paramedic and placed over the nose and mouth of the patient.
