What does CCB mean or stand for ?

A CCB is a drug that is used to treat people who have heart problems and high blood pressure – hypertension.What this drug does is slow the heart down and relaxes it.This is done by blocking any calcium in the blood stream from entering the heart chambers.

Calcium is bad for the heart and gets clogged in the walls of the arteries causing blockages.These could result in heart attacks and strokes.

When the calcium is blocked,the heart can pump for efficiently thereby reducing the blood pressure.
