FNA full form

What does FNA mean or stand for ?

FNA is a medical biopsy procedure that is used there is a surface swelling,cyst or possible tumor.Fine needle aspiration is similar to an injection but instead of injecting a fluid,there is a removal of cells and tissues.It is relatively a less painful procedure as compared to any other type of biopsy where the skin needs to be cut in  order to reach the infected portion.

After removing this fluid and cells,they are examined to either be malignant or benign.
