The state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country both politically as well as from a cultural education point of view. It has seen the most militancy since independence and normal life has been disrupted very often. However the people of Jammu and Kashmir are a resilient lot and this can be seen from the types of institutions that they have crated in order to give the new generation a stable and professional education.

There are 7 engineering colleges in this small state and this goes to say alot. From a mix of private and government colleges these are some of the most reputed in the country and are mostly situated in the Jammu region of the state where it is relatively more peaceful and not much insurgency.

Scope of an engineering degree in Jammu & Kashmir

There are lots of industries, plants and production houses hosted by big corporate giants that setup their operations of manufacturing in this state due to easy availability of raw materials. Because of this there will always be employment for engineers who have taken up chemical engineering, production engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering.

Students can easily take up engineering after they complete their 10+2 and can either go through the central admission rounds of the state government or join a private institute. The four years course will ensure that they receive a B.E degree after successfully completed.
